Who We Are

The Cofradia promotes devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre. On the 4th Thursday of February, April, June, August and December at 8:00 p.m., they have their monthly Mass to honor Our Lady. They visit homes with the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady, praying the rosary for the intentions of the family requesting the visit. Anyone can request a visit; just contact the Cofradia. Every year, in the month of August, they have their annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity (Ermita de la Caridad del Cobre) located in Biscayne Bay, Miami. They travel by bus, have a Mass, and rosary and the opportunity to confess and spend time in a beautiful Chapel set aside to visit with the Most Blessed Sacrament. The trip includes luncheon.

They donate layettes to needy families or unwed mothers through the year. Just contact them to request it.

They also cooperate and assist with the Marian Rosary Festival celebrated each year on the first Sunday in May and also are participants in it by bringing the Pilgrim Image of our Lady.

On September 8th of each year, they celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Charity with Mass, rosary and procession, which is usually concelebrated by the Bishop, our parish priests and visiting priests who come to celebrate that special day.

Every year for Thanksgiving, with the help and donations from everyone from the Parish, they distribute food and Publix gift certificates for a turkey to the needy families from our community.

Throughout the year, within the means, they help people in our community that may be encountering a hardship or emergency situation and have contacted us for assistance and in diverse works of charities throughout our community.

As well, they cooperate and assist, within their means, in the different ministries that share the Word or are doing humanitarian works of mercy.
